What the connector can see

The short answer

The connector acts as you, with your own DawBets account. It reads odds and the data your account already holds, and — when you ask, and after your assistant asks you to confirm — changes things that belong to your own account: your bet history, your preferences, your alerts and presets, a share link, a post on the ideas board. Its reach is your own account and nothing beyond it: never a sportsbook, never a card, never your plan. One caveat, stated plainly: the credential your assistant’s client holds is a sign-in token for your DawBets account, and while every tool goes through the checks on this page, the token itself does not — a client that misused it could read or change that same account data of yours directly, without the confirmation step. It still could not place a bet, move money, reach a sportsbook or change your plan; those are locked on our side however the token is used.

• ●It cannot place a bet. It never signs into a sportsbook, never loads a slip, never sends a wager.
• ●It cannot move money. No deposits, no withdrawals, and it never sees a payment method.
• ●It cannot touch your plan. Billing, subscription changes and referral payouts are out of reach. Your preferences, alert settings and presets it can change — only when you ask, and only after you confirm.
• ●It cannot see your bankroll. That column is left out of every query it can run.
• ●It is not live. Pre-game markets only, and every row carries a timestamp so your assistant can say how old the price is.

The access list you approve

Before the connector answers anything you approve a fixed list of what it may do — once when you connect your assistant, and again on the Data access card at dawbets.com/connect whenever DawBets widens it. That list is the record, so here it is word for word:

• ●Log a bet you have already placed to your DawBets bet history, and correct, settle or remove bets there, when you ask — it never places a wager with a sportsbook
• ●Change your DawBets preferences, filter presets, boost presets and bet-alert settings, when you ask
• ●Create a public share link for a bet, and post ideas, votes, replies and feedback under your name, when you ask
• ●Your subscription tier applies — usage is metered per day
• ●No access to billing, payment details, or your sportsbook accounts

Why it never sees your bankroll

Your bankroll and average bet size are not hidden behind a setting you could flip — they are left out of the columns the connector may select. Every bet it returns already carries a Kelly figure in units; add a bankroll and that becomes a dollar stake, the one thing this connector will not produce. Risk tolerance is readable, because alone it cannot yield an amount.

What it can write

Every write the connector offers is to your own DawBets account, happens only when you ask, and is advertised to your assistant as not read-only — which is what makes it stop and prompt you before the call runs. No tool can write silently. That confirmation lives in the tool, not in the token: the token by itself is a sign-in for your account (the caveat at the top of this page), which is why disconnecting means removing the connector itself, not switching off any one tool — see “Turning it off” below. The kinds:

• ●Your bet history. Log a bet or a standard parlay you already placed, fix a mistyped stake or price on an open bet, mark an open bet won, lost or refunded when the automatic grader has not caught up, or remove a bet at any status. Removing is the only one without an undo, and your assistant is told to confirm it with you first.
• ●Your preferences. The sportsbooks, teams, leagues and players you follow, your state, odds format and risk-tolerance display setting — the same fields as Settings.
• ●Your bet-alert settings. The switches, minimum edge, daily cap, quiet hours and filters behind the iPhone app’s bet alerts — see How bet alerts are chosen.
• ●Your presets. Save or delete a bet-feed filter preset or a boost-builder preset.
• ●A share link. Create the same public share page the Share button makes. It is public the moment it exists, and the connector has no way to delete it.
• ●Ideas and feedback. Post an idea, vote, reply, or send feedback to the team, under your name, exactly as from the website — including the duplicate check and moderation.

Logging a bet is the write most people use, and it runs the same three steps as the Track bet button on a bet card:

   Your assistant asks you to confirm

   The tool is advertised as not read-only, which is what makes your assistant stop and prompt you before the call runs.

   DawBets re-prices it from the board

   The row is stored at the price DawBets verifies for that market right then, not at whatever the chat said, so the closing line value it later scores is measured against a price you really got.

   It lands in My Bets

   It settles and gets scored like any bet you tracked by hand. See How bet tracking works.

Billing, referrals and analytics

It reads which plan you are on and when the period or trial ends, because a tool call has to know your allowance. It cannot read a card or payment identifier, and changes nothing about your plan — to switch plans, see Change or cancel your plan. It can read your referral code and stats, but redeeming referral months is a billing action and is deliberately left off the connector; do that on Refer a friend.

Answers from the tools that touch your own account data are dropped before they reach our analytics product: that you asked is recorded, what came back is not.

Parts of it can be switched off

Reading your account data and writing to it each sit behind their own switch, and both fail closed. Both are on today; the switches exist so we can pull either one instantly if something goes wrong. When one is off your assistant says so plainly, the odds, coverage and calculator tools carry on, and you can make the change yourself at My Bets or Settings instead.

Turning it off

Remove the DawBets connector in your assistant’s own connector settings. That is the whole procedure: DawBets has no revoke button of its own today, so there is nothing to click on our side. Every write re-checks your session with DawBets immediately before it touches a row, and changes nothing if that session is no longer valid.
